Iran's Contemporary Pottery and Ceramic Exhibition Opened in Tabriz
Iran's contemporary ceramic exhibition on a number of selected works from the 7th Iran's Contemporary Ceramics Biennial held in Tehran's Museum of Contemporary Art opened in Tabriz Culture House's Ostad Yassemi Gallery.
Pottery has a long history throughout the world and Iran. Like many others, the Tabriz pottery, recognized by its unique turquoise color, had lost its place in the everyday modern life. Fortunately with the support of East Azarbaijan Cultural Heritage Organization and efforts of dedicated artists, the Tabriz pottery is experiencing a spectacular revival in a creative and new form.
The official in charge of Ostad Yassemi Gallery Shahrokh Dilmaqani told IRNA, "Some 274 works from 90 artists are on display at the ongoing exhibition."
He added that the exhibition is held in line with a move that was launched three years ago to promote plastic arts.
The exhibition will be open to visitors up to Aug. 15.
